Angenelle Thijssen
Angenelle Thijssen (Breda, 1961), Harubian Landscape, oil on canvas, 40 x 50 cm., 2010. Angenelle Thijssen is a well known Dutch contemporary artist, whose landscapes can be recognized by an explosive use of colour. After graduating grammar school, she studied at the 'Academie voor Beeldende Vorming' in Tilburg and was taught by Nico Molenkamp, Ru van Rossum, Marlene Dumas, Toon Verhoef en René Daniëls (1980-1985). Whereas her main interests were painting and grafics, she achieved a first grade in drawing and history of art as well. In 1988 and 1989 she developed her abilities further by studying at the 'Grafikatelier van die Internationale Sommerakademie in Salzburg (Werner Otte). Moreover she profounded her knowledge by attending the lessons of Ber Mengels at the 'Vrije academie Werkplaats voor Beeldende Kunsten' in The Hague.
