“Van Zadelhoff Veilingen & Taxaties” is affiliated with the Federatie TMV.
Federatie TMV is the only professional organisation of authorised valuers/appraisers, brokers and auctioneers of moveable goods in the Netherlands. The Federation’s legal predecessor is the “Nederlandse Organisatie van makelaars, veilinghouders en beedigde taxateurs in roerende goederen en machinerieen (Dutch organisation of brokers, auctioneers and authorised valuers / appraisers of moveable goods and machinery), which was set up in 1951.
The Federation has more than 300 members. Its objects include the promotion of the professional interests of its affiliated valuers/appraisers, brokers and auctioneers, and the monitoring and promotion of its members’ quality and professional competence. Even though the government in 1996 withdrew the statutory requirements for auctioneers and a few years later also those for valuers/appraisers and brokers – as a result of which the term beëdigd (authorised) lost its meaning – the Federation’s members still make every effort to uphold the high level of professionalism. In order to be admitted as a Federation member, a valuer/appraiser, broker or auctioneer must have demonstrable professional knowledge. That knowledge is assessed by means of examinations in the area in question. The requirement of personal certification was also added in 2002. The Federation’s members include certified valuers/appraisers, brokers and auctioneers with numerous areas of expertise, including Art and Antiques, Musical Instruments, Trademarks and Designs, Machinery and Equipment, etc.
